Texture

Texture means how the object feels when touching it. Texture is created in a painting by repeating Lines, Shapes, Patterns and by adding Value.

We can create texture as 3D Texture or 2D texture. Rough Texture reflect the light Unevenly, on the other hand Smooth texture reflect the light evenly.

Using Texture in artwork makes it more detailed and strongly balanced. In Watercolors Texture can be created in a really fun way. For eg. by sprinkling salt, sponge, pen and ink, using Oil Pastels etc.

Acrylic and Oil Colors are great medium to work with Texture. Gesso, Impasto technique, different types of sponges, ropes etc. can be used.
