Stippling

Stippling is one of the popular type of shading Technique. In this, numerous dots varying in size, same in color are drawn to create "Value" in the artwork. Nearer and bigger the dots, more darker value they will create and vice versa. Pen and Ink are most favourable medium for Stippling. This form of shading is widely used in medical illustrations, graphic novels, comic books.

Here I have done Stippling in an Oak leaf with a fine point black pen. I have created a patterns of fine black dots to create darker Values.
